Intelligent GSM modems
Industrial GPRS transfers
GPRS Conel modems have been used in demanding industrial systems since 2002. A unique
advantage of GPRS Conel modems is that they directly support a number of industrial protocols (MODBUS,
IEC 101, 104...) and several other interfaces RS232,
RS485, RS422, M-bus and I/O.This predetermines GPRS modems for use in dispatching
systems (SCADA), in energy and power
industries, heat and transportation industries, to monitor gas and petroleum products distributions, or
the distribution of electric power and water.
GSM control and supervision / monitoring
GSM modules may be used as simple GSM control units for gates, doors, heating
systems, thermostats and for many other appliances. GSM modules may be controlled via SMS, by
phone or they may work as SMS GSM alarm announcing devices. Data may be transferred via the GPRS communications
system, serial interface RS232 or USB.
Remote energy data readouts
GSM modules and dataloggers enable the user to use long-term monitoring technologies and remote
data collection processes (readouts) from various meters and measuring devices such as: water
meters, electric power meters, heat meters - calorimeters, gas meters and pressure or thermal sensors,
etc. GSM modules may work in online mode or for several years powered by battery only -
if set to minimum consumption mode. At the same time they provide continuous monitoring services. Data
transfer is done via GPRS and SMS and data are transferred to a dispatch centre or are fed to the Internet/intranet,
which offer graphic data visualisations (displays).
